The view from my webcam: aka sitting on Molly’s kitchen floor in front of the screen door, taking in some good ol’ vitamin D.
I watched a video the other day focused entirely on how important vitamin D is, and how rare it is that most people get enough of it. While you wouldn’t die from a vitamin D deficiency, it’s essential in promoting bone health. Did you know that vitamin D is rarely seen in foods? When it is, it’s such a small amount. It’s almost impossible to get the adequate amount from food alone, which is why it’s important to be in the sun for at least 30 minutes a day! (Don’t forget the sunscreen though)
Since I made the decision to adopt a vegan diet, I’ve been paying a little bit more attention to what I’ve been putting in my body. As a vegetarian, I definitely relied more on cereals and grains, as well as processed foods and sugars. As a vegan, a lot of those things get cut out, and you have to find substitutes or better options. This requires research! Following vegan accounts on Instagram was my first step. I’m going to make an entire post about this transition soon, and I’ll include my favorite ones then.
I know this is a random post, but I haven’t done much today. This summer is mostly going to be dedicated to working, saving up money for my apartment. As soon as I go back to school, the posts will be more interesting.
